command option 2 command j -> highlights, layermode: normal command option 2 + invert command j -> shadows, soft light adjust levels shadows: 0.5 highlights: 1.5 desaturate highlights -30
older workflow
white = 100% and grey = 50% create 2 copies of layer, name them shadows and highlights on shadow layer, create luminosity mask (command - option - 2) delete/invert selections for both layers shadow layers -> soft light highlights layer -> lighten adjust levels on highlights: 0.5 shadows: 1.5 desaturate shadows -30
